Craigslist accused of pimping
PEDDLER OF TAT, CRAIGSLIST has been accused of acting as America's biggest pimp by a top Illinois cop.
Cook County Sherriff Thomas Dart has filed a suit against the listings site saying, "Craigslist is the single largest source of prostitution in the nation."
The legal action comes just four months after the company promised to clean up its act and crack down on prostitution.
Dart said that his officers had seen no change to the number of listings appearing on the site and that the sweeping changes promised by the owners had not materialised.
In the past two year's Dart's officers have arrested more than 200 people who had been tracked down through listings on the site's 'Erotic Services' section, including teenagers as young as 14.
"Pimps are preying on the most vulnerable members of our society and taking advantage of our struggling economy," Dart said at a recent press conference. "The worst part is Craigslist's owners know their website is still being used for illegal purposes and they're doing nothing to stop it."
A spokescraig said, "Misuse of the site is exceptionally rare compared to how much the site is used for legal purposes. Regardless, any misuse of the site is not tolerated on Craigslist."
If the Sherrif is cracking down on prostitutes, you'd think the list would make his life easier. At least he knows where to find them. µ

That is hilarious, its the best spot to get used auto parts. A site that big cant change in 4 months.

What the hell, lol?
When you use low cost housing sources, you are at a gross disadvantage. I believe that groups like craigs list and other central info groups must be screened themselves. They, from my experience stalk you, assault you and can even involve you in human trafficking and other exploitation circumstances. craigs list is often aware of who is looking for housing and will automatically blacklist someone. Hence the homelessness crisis.
