Sony TVs get electronic money

Nibble Easy for pay-per-view
Tuesday, 3 March 2009, 13:23

SONY'S latest HD LCD tellies will come with electronic money that users can spend on downloading movies and TV programmes.

Sony's Bravia W5 and F5 series tellies sport remote controls with electronic money card readers for pay-per-view programming over the Interweb.

Electronic money is popular in Japan and its use is expected to grow outside the Land of the Rising Sun.

Just get sky.

Sony don't have a tv channel, or tv network, fair enough they distribute some films to cinemas and dvd rental shops.

Just get regular tv, and if you want extra get sky or cable.

Reminder,

I was just able to Sky+ (record/remind) a TV show that was only being advertised. The little green icon square appeared in the corner with "Remind". I pressed Green button, this opened the programme planner diary, and I was able to press Record and also select Series Link (it records every show for the current series).

Can the Sony do that?

I'm not sure where the sony having a shopping card fits in the market.
