Via unveils super-mini ITX mobo

More ports than Oddbins
Tuesday, 3 March 2009, 10:52

MOBO MAKER VIA has announced further shrinkage of the ITX standard with its Em-ITX integrated board aimed at makers of ultra-slim embedded devices.

The new board is 30 per cent smaller than Mini-ITX at just 12cm x 17cm but offers up to 200 per cent more in the way of possible ports because of its dual I/0 coastline. Both long edges of the board can be crammed with COM (RS-232/422/485), RJ45, DVI, VGA, LVDS, USB 2.0 and DC power signals.

A stackable EM-IO expansion bus adds further USB 2.0, GPIO, LPC, PCIe, IDE, IEEE 1394, S-ATA, PCI, DVI, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet and Card Bus connectivity.
