Tuesday, 3 March 2009, 01:30

THE OCIA is reviewing what is dubbed a 'value' SSD line from OCZ, the Solid Series (30GB). Yes, it's budget and no, it isn't slow at all. For a $100 drive, this does lower the price bar on the whole SSD matter.

The Leadtek Winfast GTX 260 Extreme is being tested in SLI mode at TweakTown. Despite costing a fair bit more than an HD 4870, Shane thinks it is well worth the money if you can spare it.

Tweaktown is looking at Mtron's latest professional SSD, the Pro 7500 32GB SSD. This drive is SLC-based (quite expensive) and best suited for the server rack, says Chris.

A forum member at Overclocker.net has come up with a nice discovery. Dasparx, that's his name, cut open a PCIe x1 slot and stuck in an 8400GSO. This let him fold@home at full power. µ

That OCZ 30GB SSD is fantastic.

30gb size, 155mb/s read, over 100mb/s write speed. For $100. Nice.

That they also do up to 250GB, nice.

Thanks for the heads up.
