Ipod helped us win the cup

Says Man United keeper

MANCHESTER UNITED goalkeeper Ben Foster reckons an Ipod helped him save a penalty in yesterday's League Cup final.

The game ended at nil-nil and so went to the lottery of penalties. Foster prepared himself by watching footage on an Ipod of opponents Tottenham Hotspurs' players taking penalties.

Said Foster: "Just before the shoot-out, I was looking at a video on an Ipod with Eric Steele, our goalkeeping coach, and Edwin [van der Saar, United's first-choice 'keeper]. It's a new innovation he's brought in since coming to the club and on it were some of Tottenham's penalties, including one from [Jamie] O'Hara. I was told that, if he was taking one, to stay as big as I can."

Foster saved O'Hara's penalty and United won the cup.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp tipped United to go on to win the League, FA Cup and Champions League. "They've got a big chance of winning the lot," he said. µ
