THE MOBILE PHONE INDUSTRY is convinced that its products can now save lives and offer health services to millions worldwide.
Apparently at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, phone outfits are peddling an idea called a Doctor in your Pocket. There are several apps designed to remind people to get vaccinations, take medicine, or undergo HIV tests.
According to Vodafone there is a bob or two to be made helping doctors and nurses relay information between each other.
Biggest adopters of such projects are India, South Africa and Uganda. µ
