DOTMOBI, the registry for the .mobi domain for mobile web sites, has launched a tool which it claims gives small businesses the ability to automagically create mobile device-ready sites.

Instant Mobilizer takes any web site and makes it mobile-compatible, regardless of the network or the handset, the outfit reckons. Changes to the original site are updated automatically on the mobile site by the tool, it said.

The tool uses several dotMobi services, including the DeviceAtlas database, which ensures site compatibility with all handsets, and the ready.mobi testing tool that checks the performance of the newly created sites.

Businesses wishing to mobilise an existing site will need a .mobi domain and and visit a dotMobi domain registrar partner that offers Instant Mobilizer to sign up for the service.

Catrina Sheridan, dotMobi's vice president of product deployment  said Instant Mobilizer "provides a complete solution for the mobile web development headaches that SMB owners often run into when trying to increase their market share without a large IT budget." µ
