Telstra goes for world's fastest wireless network

Nibble In time for the government to throttle it
Tuesday, 17 February 2009, 11:24

AUSSIE telco Telstra is to roll out what it claims is the world's fastest wireless broadband network.

The Next G network will manage 21 (Mbps) for business customers. The best  been seen so far is 14.4 Mbps.

Products based around the faster speeds will be in the shops in March. It is expected that the great unwashed will be able to buy similar products in April.

However it doesn't look like the technology on the network will allow speed increases to 42 Mbps before the end of 200. µ

Telstra, Service Vs. Speed

Always a good read, but unfortunately Telstra is one company that needs some major raking over the coals.

Having the fastest internet ( wireless ) here in Australia is fine, but what they should be concentrating on is making customers satisfied, which in turn will improve their bottom line.

I have a landline with Telstra, which has an ADSL service attached, but the line is crackly and you can imagine what that does for ADSL stability. Every time I ask for it to be fixed, the routine goes, "I'll test your line sir, yes, everything checks ok", my response, "can you hear the crackling"? So they send a linesman, who immediately reconnects the points in the street and tells me, yep, it's fine, WITHOUT having checked the line first.

I can see this ending in tears, or at the TIO.

Sadly, Telstra, you may now have the fastest wireless service, but the rest of your service sucks the proverbial.
