SONY ERICSSON HAS A PLAN which it thinks can deal with its recession-hit business and it is more cunning than a sackful of foxes.

Marketeers Steve Walker and Lennard Hoornik said the company will move the outfit into creating mobile services and entertainment. After all, if the world is miserable there is nothing punters are going to want more than to watch some video of a cat wearing sunglasses or a child falling over... and all on a screen the size of a postage stamp.

Showing off the Idou phone the outfit said that it will have a service called "Entertainment Unlimited" that will bring together mobile phones with PCs and the TV to share entertainment content.

The new W995 Walkman phone will play the feature-length flicks, which means you can walk into lamp posts while trying to squint at the latest Hollywood blockbuster (or a video of someone else walking into a lamp post). µ
