DIGITIMES RECKONS Lenovo is preparing a 12-inch netbook around an Intel Atom N280 processor and GN40 chipset.
Apparently called the IdeaPad S20, the device will cost about $580 and its 12-inch screen will be bigger than Intel likes. Chipzilla will have to like it or lump it... or not flog Lenovo any more Atoms.
Digitimes says the device is reportedly on the cards but fails to state where it was reported. It also quotes sources it won't identify, so you never know. µ
Hey lenovo, put the mo#%&$Yng red dot/nipple in you netbooks, it's ridiculous to be scratching that fricking trackpad like a fucking cat. I'm waiting for that to buy one
One already exists, and it runs on the real Atom platform, with the ultra low power GMA500.
The GN40 would be even more attractive, even though power consumption is higher.
A 12" machine is a netbook in the same way that Pluto is a planet.
@ Regulas:
yup, matte screen is more eye friendly, that's why 'girl-on-the-beach' EeePc gets my vote
A flute with no holes, is not a flute.
A donut with no hole, is a danish.
A netbook with a 12" screen, is a laptop.
I heard this was going to happen, not just Lenevo either. A 12" screen is actually usable for daily needs. I hope it is mat finish, I hate the glossy screens and I hope it is Linux friendly. I hope it does not have a shiny finger print magnet case either, stick with the original thinkpad material. A lot of hopes but our messiah Obama and his cult of marxist liberals will fix it all and change the orbit of the planet if needed, NOT. I plan on wipping the entire drive and installing Ubuntu.
I wonder how much the LCD gamut of the netbook. Notebook has 45% gamut in commont, PC LCD 75%, netbook LCD?
