O2 offering free Samsung laptops

With mobile broadband packages

O2 HAS ANNOUNCED an new partnership with Samsung which will see top-end laptops given away 'free' as part of its mobile broadband packages.

The new Pay Monthly deals, which go live on February 27th, will include a subsidised Samsung NC10 mini laptop or one of two versions of R510 which are being aimed at 'performance' or 'multi media' users.

The packages cost either £29.38 with 3GB of data or £39.15 with 10GB per month, plus an additional £78.29 one-off charge if you want the multi media model.

O2's current deal for 10GB over 24 months is £29pm. The new deal for the same 10GB + Samsung is going to be £39pm, which is an extra £240 over the same period.

How do companies keep getting away with marketing these sort of things as free?
