Wednesday, 11 February 2009, 15:18

CISCO SYSTEMS IS FLOGGING more than $4 billion in bonds and the dark satanic rumour mill claims it is going to buy up lots of companies while the price is cheap.

The last time Cisco cashed bonds like this, it acquired Scientific Atlanta for $6.9 billion. Rumours are that the company might buy storage partner EMC or at least its virtualisation business VMWare, although it might be pricey.

Other possible targets could include NetApp, Sun Microsystems, Red Hat, BMC and Skype. µ
