Qimonda must find buyer by April

Nibble Going... going... goner
Wednesday, 11 February 2009, 10:50

BANKRUPT GERMAN CHIP MAKER Qimonda has slashed production and says it will have to find a buyer by the end of March or it will be doomed.

Production has been cut by 75 per cent, the other 25 per cent of the workforce is presumably operating the coffee machine in the plant canteen.

The company said that talks have been held with potential buyers but that, "it is still too early to make any assessment". µ

Any takers?

I reckon AMD should buy Qimonda to avoid a GDDR5 monopoly from Samsuny. That and they'll make even cheaper grpahics cards.

Don“t think so

I think Amd is in enough rough trouble and shortage of cash to make such a move, but maybe, MAYBE those Arabs can throw a bone to Qimonda

Of course this is daydreaming
