FAA hacked

Fortunately planes did not drop out of the sky
Tue Feb 10 2009, 10:39

THE US FEDERAL AVIATION Administration's (FAA) computer system has been hacked and names and Social Security numbers of 45,000 employees and retirees have been nicked.

It appears that anyone who was hired before the first week of February 2006 has seen their personal details handed over to the bad guys.

Fortunately the server that was accessed was not connected to the operation of the air traffic control system and so planes were not affected. µ

Mainframe not get hacked?

Mainframe not get hacked? anything connected to the internet in some way or fashion can be hacked.

In fact anything can be hacked with out being connected to the network ask kevin mitnick. He did it through social engineering to gain access to the facilities to hack there systems.

Back to the Mainframe

I think large companies should seriously consider going back to the mainframe. They're a lot cheaper now and using their virtual capability, they should be able to basically everything that they do now (except get hacked).

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
