UK TELECOMS GIANT BT is the first UK retail outlet to offer Samsung's new NC20 laptop, albeit on pre-order.
Exercising its god-given right to be utterly vague in everything it ever does, BT has given the pretty little netbook a release date of 'late February' for the Apple-aping white version, and 'early march' for the Darth Vader-stylee piano black one.

Based around the Via Nano processor clocked at 1.3GHz, the NC20 has a sharp and bright 12.1 inch display which supposedly offers a 30 per cent wider viewing angle than most comparable screens.
Other features include a full size keyboard, 160GB hard drive, Bluetooth 2.0, a 1.3 MP camera, 3 in 1 card reader, a six-cell battery and 1GB of memory as standard.
Microsoft XP Home comes pre-installed but there's no Linux option available.

First netbook to use the Via Nano, the Atom killer?
I don't get this obsession with a wider viewing angle, on laptops/netbooks, at all. I am quite happy for a bit of privacy while I'm out there with my NC10 (which I love dearly) and the only thing that would make may day would be an integrated 3G modem, that would ease my mind of the fear of loosing my O2 dongle. And please, please forget about a glossy screens as well ... what a "no brainer" on laptops. Cheers
