iPod Touch becomes iPhone

Nibble The miracle of the loaves into fishes
Fri Feb 06 2009, 04:41

LOW-COST PHONE FOOTLER Jajah has converted the iPod Touch into an iPhone with a new workaround which will allow Touch users to call and text messages using a voice over IP network instead of a carrier's mobile network.

The only thing it can't do is operate away from a Wi-Fi network so it is unlikely to kill the iPhone.

Dubbed White Label, Jajah plans to license the application to wireless and non-wireless operators who offer it under their own brand. µ

Mic

Like every article Nick writes, he either omits information deliberately, or doesn't do enough research. Interesting find except the iPod Touchs do not come with a built in microphone, so you will have to purchase one compatible with your device first. Seems like a strange point to have forgot to mention in your article....

And once again...

The first falme-boys out of the gate the the Apple fanboy-knuckleheads. Who cares if you need a mic!? Won't you get one anyway if you plan to VOIP over the ITouch!? Get a grip fruits.

Mr

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought the gen2 iPod Touch had a built-in mic?
