THE WORLD'S politicians have formed a social notworking site so that they can poke each other when no one is watching.

The beta version of Welcom, which is streamed on to the World Economic Forum's website, will use video feeds as well as allow world leaders to exchange or share documents so they can participate in virtual meetings at any time of the day.

"Welcom convenes the world's top decision makers and opinion leaders in a virtual community - a single place online where you can work together with peers efficiently and securely to address your concerns and drive global, regional and industry agendas." Founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab, blithered "Welcom is both a community and a comprehensive resource for tackling our critical business and global governance challenges."

It is not clear if there any one actually using it, other than to chat up that nice looking German Green party woman. µ
