Radioactive RAM released

Tri-channel DDR3 kits
Wed Feb 04 2009, 10:57

MEMORY MAKER MUSHKIN has announced the birth of a new DDR3 triple-channel kit memorably titled 998679r (where do they get these whacky names from?).

Resplendent in a natty bright yellow aluminium heat-spreader jacket with radiation symbols to make it look a bit scary, the kit comes equipped with 6GB of chippery and hits the high notes at 1600 MHz.

The kit comes in a fancy aluminium case (why?) has 7-8-7-20 latency and low a 1.65V rating which should keep the overclockers happy. Mishkin reckons the kits should be available right now, but we couldn't find any on sale in the usual outlets, hence the lack of pricing. Pretty I guess

They already have memory with the exact same specs and heatsinks. The only difference is the color. NewEgg has their 998679 3x2GB kit, 7-8-7-20, 1.65v, Cas Latency 7, DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) kit for $205. So other than the paint.... what is the differance... other than price?
