Boffins find the sound of falling in love

Nipple Just in time for Valentine's Day
Tuesday, 3 February 2009, 14:07

NEVER MIND drugging the object of your affection, a group if Italian boffins think that you are more likely to score on Valentine's day if you blast your object of desire with ultrasound.

The boffins, from Milan think that a low frequency wave broadcast through a telephone should be enough to make them start thinking loving thoughts. Which might explain why Barry White was considered sexy.

Apparently they are trying to flog their "amoreblue" bluetooth device on the Piazza del Duomo in Milan on Valentine's day. µ

What utter tosh

First the article talks about ultrasound, which is audio frequencies above our ears' ability to hear.

Then it refers to low frequency waves.

Make your mind up! In any case, infrasound (frequencies below our range of hearing) is more known for causing involuntary bowel movements than heart flutters.

D'oh!

I didn't know Barry White had that sort of vocal range. I think you mean infrasound, except that wouldn't make it down a phone line.

Erm ... sure

Frequency response of a telephone is 300Hz to 3.4KHz - no opportunity to transmit ultrasound or infrasound to the object of your affection.

Hmmm...

If low frequency sounds are alluring, why aren't baked beans an aphrodisiac?

Didn't Mythbusters bust the "Brown Note"?

I thought the Mythbusters on Discovery Channel busted the "Brown Note" myth. I could be wrong.
