SHRINKS claim that girls get too depressed when they start talking about their problems on the internet.
For a long time girls were supposed to chat about their feelings with their friends and it was supposed to make them feel better, but when the same behaviour pattern translates to the World Wide Wibble it backfires.
The study penned by shrinks Lisa Starr and Joanne Davila, from the Department of Psychology at State University of New York said that 13 year olds discovered that those who chatted about their problems too much got more depressed.
While lots of talking can help if those involved have strong problem-solving skills because it helps them reach a solution and it builds friendships, the report said.
However if your mates can't offer you a way out of your teen troubles you tend to get more depressed.
With the development of the Internet, teens have more chances to talk through through their problems with more people. If none of the friends has a clue, then girls will fall deeper into depression.
Teen boys apparently don't get depressed or have problems, other than those related to having depressed girlfriends. µ
