Amazon rides out recession

IT LOOKS LIKE THE FOLKS AT AMAZON had a better Christmas than most with a remarkable 18 per cent jump in revenue on the same period last year.

And it looks like the American etailer's figures were bolstered by overseas punters with international (non US) sales rocketing by 31 per cent.

Amazon also said that sales of its Kindle book reader were better than expected but kept the actual sales figures close to its chest for some unknown reason.

Anal listers believe the bouyant figures are due to aggressive pricing by Amazon, but the company denies that its discounts were as deep as some had suggested. µ

Duh

Hmmm well lets see - they had the best price on Ipod Nino and high resolution scanner, plus free shipping. I guess I should have bought from someone else w/ a higher profit margin to help stimulate the economy.
