Chrome supports Hotmail

Pretends to be an Apple
Friday, 30 January 2009, 11:57

GOOGLE has managed to get its latest beta version of Chrome to work with Vole's hotmail service by lying.

Google has added a patch to its latest beta and stable versions of Chrome which tells the Vole that it is actually Apple's Safari browser. The Hotmail site is so frightened of getting shedloads of mail from smug uptight fan boys that it lets them in.

Chrome Product Manager Mark Larson said in a blog announcement that the fix is temporary. We guess no one would want to even pretend to be an Apple fanboy for long, unless they were an Apple fanboy and then they would be too smug to notice. µ

it's nothing new

including id's of other browsers in user-agent strings is nothing new. Every browser does that.

Proof

Proof that the issue has been Hotmail all along and not Chrome.

not a surprise

"Hotmail supports Chrome" should have been that article's title..... and yes, its a proof that hotmail is intended to be used with IE. I still wonder why if i have chrome as my default browser, when I check my, well hotmail from MSMessenger, IE opens and not chrome. pity.

It can read, but can it now write?

I have been using Chrome since the day it came out and it opens hotmail fine. I just can't send a typed message. It doesn't take the curser so you can't type. Is this problem fixed now?
