Google denies helping terrorists

Google Earth is a usefull tool, like many things that can be used for bad things. It is using publicly available maps and photos that can be found or purchaesed through many locations, not just Google. Logic that could possibly blame Google like that would say that cell phones are evil too. In fact cell phones were likely a more vital tool to the terrorists as it helped them keep the battle going for much longer and kept the attacks more quordinated. Heck they even had to restrict news coverage as the terrorists were using that information too. Oh and lets blame this one on Bush and the Americans as US tourists were being targetted too. Throw in Isreal as they targetted Jews. Logic like this should not be allowed. Likely it is started by someone either that does not like Google or someone looking to get Google to pay for everything because they have lots of money.

If you're against Google Earth, then you should probably stop the manufacturing of weapons, automobiles, phones and everything else.

So are we to ban maps? phones? cars? i bet they used these things too. Lets face it by reacting as we are to terrorist they are winning. The best way to stop "terror" is to ignore it. Starve it of the publicity it needs.

Would love to know what a terrorist map looks like though. Does it have things like "here be infidels!" on it?

Bringing back a relic from the retro for my argument. VCRs weren't designed to break laws. It just depended on what you specifically used VCRs for. Its that simple.

This is an excellent example of why information - most importantly maps, but also databases of personal information and shopping habits, as well as voting records - should be restricted for use by law enforcement and gov't agencies only.

The Internet has become a monster. It promotes unconventional thinking, divergent behaviour, and through FPS games trains the young to be killers.

The spread of crime via the Internet could probably be checked by licensing ownership of servers, compilers and script run-times and also by licensing system administrators, or at least creating a self-governing association for admins similar to those for doctors, lawyers, paedophiles and paediatricians.

We need to seriously rethink this.

No one has the right stop researching in any thing including science & technology. Adventure is life for helping the mankind. How the evils will use it is their outlook. That does not stop from progressing the world further in all respects. Why to blame Google? Let them do their jobs. They are fair & keep things well controlled.
No terrorists will be contained unless hunger and all disparities are removed among the nations and sects & religions. Let us reconcile with one another. All will be OK like before when terrorism was in fool's dictionary. By hatred we cannot win anything
