Birthday man hangs himself online

Nibble Invites friends to surprise
Wed Jan 28 2009, 04:24

A POLISH MAN HANGED HIMSELF in front of a camera connected to a video chat on the Internet on his 27th Birthday.

He had told his mates he was preparing a surprise for his birthday, connected his camera and went into a video chat room.

One of the people in the chat room noticed that the camera was a bit askew. They were a bit worried about him and called the cops. His parents were asleep upstairs. µ

As if the act of suicide ins't selfish in itself, the guy wants to make a spectacle of the event by inviting people he calls FRIENDS to witness it? Is that something you really want your FRIEND to have to live with the rest of THEIR life?
"Hey Joe, you're my best friend, let me show YOU something..."
Not that i'm an expert, but generally when a person is even entertaining the thougt of hurting themslf, there is a period of outreach. Most friends don't act on the change of attitude hoping their buddy will just PULL OUT OF IT.
Unless this is a practical joke gone HORRIBLY wrong.......

Good point

I find it unlikely that the suicide was intentional if he actually invited close friends to watch. It is also unlikely he meant to kill himself since other people were in the house. It was probably a stunt that went wrong.

Right, Not Selfish

Supremely cowardly.

Forgot to watch!!

It would have been a shame to miss out on the show after being invited so kindly. After all this is an event to die for, literally.

27 yr old Virgin

Hang on a sec, he's 27 and why is he living with his parents? Most likely reason to hang him self, cannot get on w/ his mom. Economy could have been another factor and even getting the boot, time to grown up.

George Carlin saw this comming

George Carlin actually predicted this ''hobby'' of killing yourself publicly would soon become mainstream. This is only the first step. The ultimate incarnation of self-destruction, according to him in his last show ''life is worth loosing'', will be when we get the ''suicide channel pay per view'' on TV. He had such a acute and keen insight about our collective human psyche, it's sometime frightening.

We, the humankind, miss you soooo much George, you have no idea...

An Hero!

So, I see that becoming an hero has moved out of /b/ and hit the mainstream.

Nutjob

I generally find joking about stuff like this quite insulting, but in this case I find it appropriate.
Acts like this should never be taken as "serious" or "heroic" cause soon some other poor fella will immitate it.

I believe that if he had failed to kill himshelf, he should be executed for trying it publicly.

Execution?

I totally agree with you Philippos, He should be executed for failing to do it himself. It should also be done in front of the public.

BTW - Does anyone have a link to the video?

The poor fecker.

His parents will probably never get over this. I imagine his entire family will be totally devastated. What an awful thing.
