US TELCO SPRINT NEXTEL has announced it that it is slashing its work force by 8,000 more people. This is on top of the 4,000 the outfit let go last year when it closed 125 retail centres.

The outfit said the further shrinking of its workforce will help cut annual costs by $1.2 billion.

The latest round of layoffs, which represent a 14 per cent reduction of its 56,000 employees, will be largely completed in two months. µ
