Mon Jan 26 2009, 14:57

AN AUSSIE government website used to advertise civil service jobs has been hacked and the database of users spammed with fake vacancies.

Each of the fake job offers come with executables designed to steal personal data and and spread viruses.

The Department of Commerce pulled the site was offline for "system maintenance" but will not say how the incident occurred nor when it expects the site back. µ
