Wednesday, 21 January 2009, 15:47

INDIAN OUTSOURCING outfit Tata Consultancy has signed an agreement today with motorbike maker Ducati.

The Bolognese outfit will hand over the keys to its technology services and Tata will provide software and business management services. How much this will cost, along with how many Italians will lose their jobs has not been revealed.

Tata is famous for managing networks of computers, developing programs and offers support for back-office to the likes of Citigroup, General Electric, NXP Semiconductor and Nielsen. µ

Tatas are much better than u can even imagine..

Tatas own the Jaguar and Land rover, Tatas own the Corus Steel company, Tatas developed the 2000USD CAR NANO, They are the No.1 Software Consultants in India, They are there in power generation, They are there in Telecom, They r there in Tea, COffee beverages, They r in the top Hospitality industry.. and many more. the best thing about them is that they r know for their Integrity... for ostriches like u who have their head buried in the sand , it is difficult to understand the shift....

Tata may be stretching themselves a bit.

Steel - current downturn in demand.
Jaguar and Land Rover, despite Jaguar bucking the trend with sales up 8% the car market is down.
Software - well that's a good one, for sure. The Indian's are the new Japanese, instead it's software not cars. Well it's cars too.

Ducati is a luxury motorcycle manufacturer. Are Tata only supplying IT services, the article is not very clear on this. Technical could include all chassis, engine, electronics on a bike. Or is it just outsourcing some of the IT department?

Tata is a giant, let's hope that they can manage it all. It will be a complete empire of a company if they can survive the next 10 years ok.
