Google gives up selling newspaper ads

GOOGLE'S two-year attempt to flog advertising in newspapers has ended with the outfit giving up.

Under the pretext of 'cost cutting', the search outfit has called it a day on helping newspapers recover from losing all their trade to the online magazines.

A SpokesGoogle said that its online expertise was about as useful as a chocolate teapot when it came to selling traditional adverts. It is not clear where this will leave the 800 US newspapers who signed up for the programme. µ
