INTERNET USE in the Glorious People's Republic of China has soared, despite the fact that the net is censored into a big yawn and saying what you think can get you locked up.

In a press release the official China Internet Network Information Centre claims that the number of Internet users in China has reached 298 million, nearly equal to the population of the United States, according to official figures.
Only 23 per cent of Chinese use the Web, compared with 73 percent in the United States and 22 percent worldwide. More than 88 million people went online in China for the first time last year which is a 42 percent increase. µ

TheInquirer is not blocked in china. I was in China few month back and still can get on with no problem besides its a bit slow.

You can mention Tibet here, in fact it is mentioned often. It is just that all the perspective are from the Government's side.
The filter is nowhere near as bad or impeccable as you may have been informed. There are still uncensored sites out there that can be visited, for now.
