Nintendo DSi for US in April

Nibble Will cost $179.99
Thu Jan 15 2009, 12:39

THE DARK SATANIC RUMOUR MILL is claiming that the revamp of the Nintendo DS Lite is coming to the United States on April 4, for $179.99.

So far a million of the beasts have been flogged in Japan but sales are dropping off because the market is saturated by the DS or DS Lite.

The DSi handheld looks like an ordinary DS but comes with two built-in 0.3 megapixel cameras, an SD Card slot that can enable AAC audio playback, 256MB internal memory, as well as allowing access to downloadable games through the DSi Shop.

The other difference between the DS and the DSi is that it has two slightly larger screens and a longer battery life. There has been no confirmation from Nintendo, so we are chalking this up as a rumour so far. µ

DSi + Acekard 2i = homebrew + happy :)

Hey GraphiX2004,
Unless I'm misinformed the Acekard 2i's firmware is constantly updated + it can be updated over WiFi. It was created for the DSi. If it didn't work why would they make an Acekard2 and an Acekard2i. So no worries. You can have both 4000 games and a bigger screen! :)

Heres a link to the page:

hmm mike?

Mike you seem to underestimate the gaming market specially homebrew scene.

lets see Nintendo DS Lite supports Flashcards which can run any of the 4,402 .nds ROMS which you can find on the net at any good rom site, also supports skins, supports, Movies, Videos, TV shows, Supports Music mp3, mp4, music videos, also supports and can add other functions such as turning it into a fully supported media device incl phone, there is much more value with a DS lite.

DSI blocks flashcards blocks the 4k of ROM games and homebrew apps, blocks, videos, movies, tv shows etc etc...

hmm.. tough choice to make

DS lite, DS restricted outa the asshole i thanks i'll stick with my 4k of free games and all my extra's incl gba slot for other goodies :)

you can pay 30-50 bucks for new games no problems here,

not much benifit what so ever is there about the new DSI it's more expensive and it allows you to do LOT less than the previous ..

for the sake of a half inch bigger screen and microphone i lost all the goodness? no thanks mike,

homebrew?

I know a lot of people with DSs, none of us care about home brew or running different OSs. DS is just a fun, easy portable gaming rig. DSi will sell when DS lites are off the shelves.

keep well away from this!!!!

These do not work with your R4/Acekard CycloDS or any other Flashcards, if you are into running home brew or running backups of your games all on 1 single card then this is not for you.

it has up-datable firmware constantly being updated via new games being loaded into the device and or when your in a Wi-Fi DSI shop Area... it will automatically update the firmware blocking out any previously working flashcards.

the reason they wont sell is not because they are too expensive its that nintendo has crippled the device where you can no longer run flashcards or run moonshell or other OS's so once again it's not going to fair well with customers who's expecting to use their own carts, or programs.

No more DivX/XviD video, no more Loading your MP3's on the device, no more running your own applications or freeware home brew content.

nintendo has screwed their home brew scene customers so we'll screw them,

Stick with the DS Lite, cheaper, and they work with flashcards which add alot more functionality than this piece of crap does.

keep well away from this useless piece of junk.
