I wrote a story on microprocessors once. Paper would have been better - The Evil Dr Spinola
EVEN WITHOUT ATI launching new desktop parts at CES, Diamond had a bunch of things to show off. They even have a new line of business oriented cards to cater to that market.

USB graphics adapter
The first one to tell you about is the new USB adapter from Diamond, using technology from Displaylink. The card is basically a USB to VGA/DVI port, so you can add a monitor to a notebook, netbook, or anything else with a free USB port. Given the bandwidth of USB, don't expect it to run 1920 x 1200 games, but it should be more than effective for office work. It will retail for well under $100 soon.
Old school gamers will remember the old school Diamond Multimedia card boxes, they were red, white, and quite distinctive. Those days are long gone, and large-breasted women wielding exotic weaponry or chrome beasts rule the shelves now.
With its new business line, prefixed with the letters BV, Diamond went back to those packages? Why? Business people don't like their employees gaming, so the more you can play that down, the better off you will be. Do you want to pay for a copy of Killer Dwarves V - The Revenge that is in the box, or only buy your assistant a card for his second monitor?
The newest BV card is the BV400, and it is two ATI HD2600s on a single PCB. The point isn't crossfire, although it can do that, but to give you four displays on a budget. This card has DVI ports three and four on a breakout card, but since the main card is a single PCB, it should be really cheap. µ
