THE FRUSTRATION FELT BY Nvidia fanbois is quite obvious, even the soothing words of their mother calling from the top of the basement stairs won't help them with this one... the GT212 hasn't taped out yet. The savior chip that we said was likely canned probably will never see the modern equivalent of a tape reel.
Given a test run/first silicon time after tapeout of ~10 weeks, and then another 12 for production, that would put it in Q3 anyway, sitting on top of the GT300, if that is on time. I wouldn't hold your breath on that one either, with the engineering delays of 2007 and 2008 haunting them, it will be a minor miracle if anything comes out when it 'should' this year.
If there is any delay to the GT212, you add approximately 1Q to the timeline for each new spin. Since Nvidia hasn't been able to do so much as an optical shrink right in the past 18 months, I guess they saw the obvious and are seriously considering pulling the plug.
Time to cry into your life-size anime figure pillows guys. µ
