Yahoo names new supremo

Nibble Carol Bartz takes poisoned chalice
Wed Jan 14 2009, 10:04

AS WE PREDICTED last week, the troubled search outfit has named Carol Bartz as its new chief executive.

Bartz is a technology veteran (60) who has been lured away from software outfit Autodesk to sort the company out.

She replaces co-founder Jerry Yang, who cost Yahoo shareholders a fortune by nixing a Volish buyout.

Apparently the move has miffed president Susan Decker who was also a candidate for the CEO job. She now plans to resign after a transitional period. µ
