OPTUS has been fined $110,000 for sending 20,000 unwanted emails to its customers in what is being touted as the second biggest breach of Australia's spam laws.

The spam peddled the OptusZoo entertainment service and was sent to customer mobile phones and used the sender identification 966.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) said that 966 was pretty meaningless, although Optus said that users were meant to dial the number back. µ
