Nintendo takes aim at a Wii TV

Nibble Number One plan
Tue Jan 13 2009, 11:58

GAMES console king Nintendo says it will launch a new online on-demand television channel through the Wii console.

The outfit has come up with a traditional daft name for the service, Wiinoma, and will support the content with advertising. Later there will be a pay-per-view service through the Wii Points system.

Wiinoma's content, which is being flogged through Japan's advertising supremo Dentsu, will be "family-oriented", so about as interesting as watching paint dry. µ
