SKYPE 2.8 FOR MAC is here and available for download today.
This new version comes with brand new features including a basic form of screen sharing which transforms the user’s screen into a virtual webcam. At present only Mac users can become a source for this screen, yet it can be viewed on Windows, Mac or Linux as video.
The other main new feature of Skype 2.8 goes by the name of Skype Access and provides WiFi access for your MacBook or MacBook Pro via any Boingo access point. Interestingly, the Skype Journal admitted that while this had been tested in over 100,000 Boingo hotspots worldwide, it would not work at the reveiwer’s local Starbucks.
Other, less significant alterations include a 'drawer' which helps you to select which Skype session you wish to view. The process of adding a contact is apparently now more simplistic, although we don’t remember this ever being particularly challenging, whilst you can now track the mood changes of your contacts, which may be more helpful for husbands. µ
Another great update not for Power PC and Tiger
