Amazon and play.com most loved by UK shoppers

No accounting for taste

ONLINE ANALYSTS Foresee Results have declared Amazon and Play.com tied as the top UK sellers of Christmas goods online.

The results are based on a survey of punters who were asked how happy they were with online shops' services. The winner for Brits was the blighty version of Amazon. Itunes made its first appearance on the site number two, which is to be expected.

The Top 30 UK Online Retail Satisfaction Index has revealed a slight increase in overall satisfaction from Christmas 2007 to Christmas 2008.

More retailers saw satisfaction increases than decreases, and some saw spectacular gains.

A third of the top 30 online retailers saw their scores drop, which shows that even with the economy down the toilet, some have not pulled finger.

Other top online retailers are eBay UK, Apple Itunes UK, Screwfix Direct, QVC UK, Ebuyer, ASOS and Argos.

Dropping in the rankings are HMV, Marks & Sparks. Teally pants was B&Q, which was the worst, and PC World of course, which really goes without saying. µ

Amazon???

Amazon UK the best? How bad have the others to be then? I still wait for reimbursement for an article NOT bought, but paid, in spring. Amazon UK once, but never again.
