IF YOU'RE NOT one to blow money on an X2, and are on a rather more ($95) restricted budget, there's still good stuff out there to be had. There's this Palit Radeon HD 4670 Super over at Tweak Town that looks like a great performer and has a ton of connectivity features. Overclocked as it is, it outruns and gives its stock-clocked counterpart a wide berth.
PC World Denmark has done a big VGA round-up with a bit of everything from 600 to 3600 Kroner ($110-$660). With eleven cards ranging from the top to bottom the pecking order, you're sure to find something of your liking. It's in Danish, tho', so forgive us our Googlenglish.
Guru of 3D got some Evga gratification with the X58 SLI. On this motherboard, Hilbert will be able to test all his ATI and Nvidia graphics combos, as it'll support Quadfire and Tri-SLI (and even a PhysX card if you're so inclined). Some liquid cooling was involved in the mobo testing. Read it here.
Everyone loves a gaming DTR notebook, especially kit like the Alienware M17, which comes with Crossfired Mobility HD 3870s a quad-core Q9100 and 4GB of DDR3-1066. Graphics performance seems a bit underwhelming, though, which is a serious put-off for gamers. Read about the DTR, here.
Things are looking up for the CPU cooling market as cheaper liquid cooling solutions make it onto the market. OCC is reviewing the CoolIT Domino Advanced Liquid Cooling system. OCC noted the mounting system will support Core i7 CPUs, as well as the usual range, but didn't quite like the mounting hardware itself. Check out the cooler.
Big Bruin is testing Sapphire's special concoction of HD 4870 X2 and liquid cooling. In other words, a Sapphire Atomic HD 4870 X2, suit case et al. Again, the fastest X2 on single slot config that you can buy, if you can afford it at an estimated $650... get it here.
Planet x64 is taking apart Nvidia's Cryostasis tech demo and running some numbers with and without PhysX. Sean finds it to challenge even the most high-end of graphics combos, but lacking in any extra feature that will get users to jump over to the NV side of cards. You can find more here. µ
