Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils - Hector Berlioz
OH DEAR. The Network Nazis have realised that employees want to use Apple's Ithingey as their corporate mobile device. And now Kace has accidentally come to their rescue with its Kbox Iphone Management Module.
Kace had already learned how to monitor Macs on the corporate LAN so adding the Ithingey is hardly much of a surprise.
According to a recent study carried out by Changewave, the Ithingey is the second best selling corporate smartphone (presumably this is in the USA).
The blurb says that Kbox users can "track Iphones and better understand associated costs, such as carrier contract details, installed software, and reporting on asset growth."
The most worrying bit is that the Kbox can apparently offer Ithingey profile deployment and enable policy-based set-up and configuration.
So, no more watching Redtube videos using the corporate SIM card, then. There's bound to be tears over this one. µ
then he and his boss need more work, or sacking.
Or maybe that employee is so shit hot at his job he can get it done so fast he has time to mess about.
Instead of paying more costs for management software, just pile more work onto your employees.
Sacking a few is also a good way of increasing producitivity, and it keeps the rest on their toes. Mind you it totally screws morale!
Sack the worst 10% of employees annually, and reward the best 10% with a bonus. It's the way forward.
Crikey, Tony,
With a headline like that [Big Brother can monitor your Iphone] I was expecting some further Total Information Awareness/Human Terrain Team Systems revelations along these lines .... http://news.cnet.com/2100-1029_3-6140191.html
Although it is to be expected that, at the usual exponential pace of electronic developments, the facilities two years later would be mind boggling if you were not au fait/up to speed in the Field ..... http://tiny.cc/avb9R
