A GRAPHICS CARD for graphics designers and movie directors would best define the Quadro CX on review at PC Perps. Nvidia says it'll speed up processing in Adobe Premiere CS 4, and as far as Ryan can see, there's a 100% improvement in transcoding performance. Swiss site OCaholic is reviewing the Xigmatec Apache EP-CD901 top down cooler. This resembles a stock Intel cooler only in orange and sans the plastic framing. Performance isn't much better either. Very cheap, though. Might work as a cheap replacement fan, wethinks. Check it out.
Intel's Core i7 is hitting the performance PC manufacturers, including Velocity Micro. Matt at Anandtech took one for a spin today and ended up with mixed feelings. Some problems you can work around, true, but consumers won't be happy about it, considering they're dropping a pretty penny. Go here for the article.
Ninjalane is giving the DFI LanParty Jr 790GX a thorough going-over. The micro-ATX motherboard packs a load of features that many of us wouldn't mind having ourselves, including Crossfire capability (2x PCIe 8x bandwidth) and Hybrid Crossfire. Give it a look.

Benchmark Reviews is testing a Cooler Master case, the Cosmos RC-1000 Mid-Tower ATX. It's supposed to be an ultra-silent case with noise-cancelling material used throughout and it even includes holes for liquid-cooling cabling. It weighs half-a-ton, though, 'cause it's made mostly of steel. Give it a look. µ
