First virtual Muslim world goes online

THE WORLD'S FIRST Muslim-friendly virtual world has been launched. It is designed for Muslims living in Western countries who want to connect with other Muslims online and enjoy Islamic culture and entertainment.

Dubbed Muxlim Pal, the site was created by the Finland-based company Muxlim.com. Users can create an online persona, design their own rooms, buy virtual items and interact with others. They can also read Al-Jazeera news and listen to the Koran and music concerts.

The site is in English and looks like just another second world clone. The only difference is that you can go and pray at a mosque and content portraying violence, drugs, sexual references or profanity is forbidden.

If users see content that they find unsuitable and inform community managers, the administrators will delete the offending material.

El-Fatatry said that there would be no segregation on the site.

The US and the UK are about 70 percent of the site's market. µ

Games people play... in the middle of the night.

And they will all play counter-strike...

Somehow I do not see them playing COD4...

offending content

When the "offending content" is removed from the game, are the avatars of the offending perpetrators publicly beheaded?

Rules?

So women on there get equal rights?. How long until infiltrated by recruiters for the Taliban? We all have the right to religion if it makes us feel secure in some way but I don't agree the way they treat women so this gets 2 thumbs down from this corner.
I know it says equal right to all but i'll have to see it believe it first.

flying penises

How long until a goon rush "offends" every one in the virtual world and causes them to launch a virtual jihad against the virtual infidels?

Now you made them mad...

I can't wait 'til the anti-social misfits at B3TA get busy with this one.

Not a second world clone

Quite a few assholes commenting here.

And it looks like a Habbo Hotel clone, not a Second Life clone.

Anyone who visits such glorified chat rooms, must be an idiot.

omg ahahaha

i wonder if they ask for proof of Muslim faith to register? If not i bet there will be a lot of "griefers" registering to stir up trouble, guys going around yell spamming
"get your spicy pork sausage here"
or
"vaginal circumcisions expert here"
or guys going around to people saying
"I'm Mohamed send me your credit card information now or i kick you out of Islam!!"

i mean the potential situations are limitless, I'm sure this will stir up a pigs pen. :D

lol
