Life may have no meaning. Or even worse, it may have a meaning of which I disapprove - Ashleigh Brilliant
IF YOU WANT to know what billionaires do for fun, tune into the US home shopping TV channel QVC on Sunday December 7th.
Yes, Dell PCs will be featured all day, but there will be a special guest appearance by Mikey himself from 6:20 to 7 pm CST.
You heard that right, Michael Dell himself will be on the show, pimping his very latest and greatest computer wares as the guest of honour.
Trailer trash and somewhat-slower-than-average bored housewives all over the US will witness this shopping extravaganza where Mike will be personally showing off Dell's latest Studio line of laptops and desktops.
If this isn't a good reason to fire up ye olde Tivo DVR so you can relive history with your grandchildren on Christmas day, we don't know what is. Since Dell's latest systems come with Vista, we don't recommend that you actually buy them, but tune in, call in, and say hi for us.
Scratch that, someone record it and post it to YouTube. µ
This is not Michael Dell's first appearance on QVC (or even that for Dell's PCs), as QVC and Dell go back quite a ways (back to when QVC was still owned by Comcast in fact) as Dell, in addition to being the preferred PC purchased by Comcast itself (and they still are), signed their first sales deal with QVC in 2000 (the deal was, in fact, signed live on QVC). While QVC (like most shopping channels) is primarily frequented by the female of the human species, they, along with HSN and ShopNBC, have a rather robust electronics sales area (with its own two hour block on QVC at least twice weekly).
