Apple fanboys revolt over Obama rumour

He is a Zune user
Friday, 5 December 2008, 07:44

APPLE FANBOYS are in a hysterical lather over the news that president elect Barak Obama used a Zune instead of one of Steve Job's approved fruit-themed toys.

The US's first techie president was seen using a Zune at the gym by hack Neal Santos who duly reported it in his bog.

Santos was not ready for the fall-out his story would create amongst fan boys who could not understand why anyone who has a shred of technical common sense might use a Microsoft product.

It was bad enough that Obama used a Blackberry and was not interested in the iPhone, but many Apple fanboys are terrified that they might have voted for a Microsoft user.

The comments box on Santos's story is full of fanboy statements that show how out of touch with reality these guys are.

"This is Zunegate," claimed one. "This is the worst rumour that has ever been concocted against Obama," said another who forgot the Republicans tried to smear him with the allegation that he was a terrorist.

"Obama must really have been using an iPod which just LOOKED like a Zune," another tried to assure himself.

Santos clearly was not ready for the onslaught and had to admit to some pendant fanboy that although the president elect definitely used a Zune, there was no proof he actually owned it. It might have belonged to one of his security guards, Santos admitted in a follow up.

This was of course seized on as: "Hack admits getting it wrong… go back to bed America, Obama is an iPod user after all".

Sheesh! It is not as if the Zune is a bad machine and the iPlod is the best gadget in the world. Seems that if Obama uses a Zune it means he can see through hype which makes him potentially a good president. Besides, the Zune user group are a nice couple. This writer is sticking to his Sony Walkman. µ
