Woolies collapse hits Zavvi website

POOR OLD WOOLIES’ collapse is now beginning to affect others as entertainment retailer Zavvi has been forced to shut its website down.

The decline of the ailing store has caused mass stock shortages for Zavvi.

Woolworths owns Entertainment UK which is a wholesale distribution company – Zavvi, alongside Asda and Borders are its customers. These entertainment suppliers have had to go into negations for a direct supply.

Unfortunately for Zavvi, Entertainment UK is its main supplier meaning that the retailer is "unable to fully guarantee the supply of DVD, music and games products to our customers."

"We have decided to suspend taking orders for these products while we work to resolve the situation," said a spokezavv.

Any existing orders where supply cannot be guaranteed have also been cancelled.

Zavvi says that regrettably this decision had to be made, it was not made lightly, but the company felt that it was the right thing to do considering the circumstances. µ

Today I went to Zavvi with agift card with £15, this was giving to my grandson by a charity, only after standing in the queue, for over 15mins ,they would not except it .They said that according to the bosses they were told not to except any, gift tokens, considering yhey were still selling these yesterday, and wont honour them today,I think it is a case of fraud , as they knew long before now they were going into administration, so what they did was totally dishonest, there will be a lot of children who will be very upset to find out there gift token is useless. My point being if they were still trading then they should have still accepted the gift token, it is a cheap way to rob ,joe public, and lets not kid ourselves ,These people know exactly what they are doing , lets hope the same thing happens to them ,big bosses and middle men , plus this goverment allowing them to do as they like .So be warned , they broke eery rule in the book and got away with it.
