3 UK gets into viral ads

Joke found up cow's posterior

FRESH FROM a victory over its arch rival, T-Mobile, with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), UK mobile operator 3 appears to be indulging in guerrilla advertising.

A spoof video has escaped into the wild which takes the Michael out of a T-Mobile which involves a farmer, a cow and a vet.

In the original T-Mobile ad, the vet is seen assuring the farmer that he can't find anything up the cow's rectum. Or at least, the INQ thinks it's her rectum.

The punchline in the original ad is that you won't find any more minutes for £30 anywhere. Not even up a cow's arse.

The spoof 3 viral ad, however, has the vet discover something hidden away inside the cow. When he pulls his gloved arm out, the vet is clutching a 3 logo.

3's probably playing with fire. The possibilities for T-Mobile retaliation are enormous.

One place where you can find the viral ad is on the Grauniad's web site here. µ

Playing with ... well, not fire ...

All the farmer has to say is: "Well, now we know where '3' comes from!"

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
