A BIT MORE Core i7 news, we know, but... Steven at Legion Hardware is knee-deep in Core i7 overclocking. The thing about the Core i7 is that it introduces a whole new set of variables to consider while overclocking, but Steven would have none of that and marched on to the 4GHz barrier with the i7 965EE, and a more impressive 3.8GHz with the i7 920... lots of value in that last one, we guess. Give it a read.
Anandtech proves that eVGA wasn’t tossed out / demoted in the NV partner list, as the company launches the new X58 SLI mobo. This is a first looks article, with a lot more to come, but from what we’re seeing right now they’re on the right track. eVGA is tapping the software side of things to make their product stand out. They even got a CPU-Z-like utility to tune the motherboard... you can find it here.
Even though the 9800GT is plagued by those issues we know, it hasn’t stopped the green goblin’s partners trying to create unique, solutions. Asus has its 9800GT Matrix at PC Perps for some testing. The cooler, for one, is very familiar and looks just like those used on the HD 4870 even though it only provides a mild (12MHz) overclock to the core. $129 will get you one, says Ryan.
Patriot’s high-end DDR3-2000 is on test at Hardware Logic. This flashy green memory isn’t part of the Core i7 generation (2.0V!) but it should deliver high-density blistering fast performance for your Core 2 Duo/Quad processors. Lifetime warranty, 2x2GB and a decent price (within reason, it is a 2GHz kit after all). You’ll need EPP2.0 to automate the performance, or use the BIOS to set it manually... Read it here.
Looking for a neat HTPC case that doesn’t break the bank? You can check the Tsunami MJR2 over at CPU3D. It’s micro-ATX and half-height, but you can rest assured you can stick a full-sized PCIe card inside thanks to the included PCIe x16 riser card... although there’s no PEG connector to the PSU... still, worth checking it out.
German site Technic3D is facing down the LANCool Metalboned K7 enclosure. The case uses a mix of steel and aluminium to get some serious build quality. Heavy? Yes. Solid as a rock? That too. Lots of 120mm fans? Heck, why not? It seems the case has a lot going for it. Read the review in German here, or Googlenglish, here. µ

Notice how new AMD cpu numbers are similar to Intel, 920, 940,945,965....yet Intel is FAR Superior to AMD, At this time(Also Far More Expensive).

If Your Still Commodore64 Fan, theres even i7 965EE Main w/ Vista BizPremi, that has CommodoreGames Translation Unit in It.

BEDLAM.

Memory, Don't Forget 64 bit Dawn.Dawn. Basicly I see convergence of Sub 800 million transistor cpus' & iA64 on Top Main, X58.Like Fall,'6 w/ X2|conro duel finalizing lots of 2 cpu on one chip to 2 cpu in one w/5XX chipsets. Today its expansion of that to more serialized core & truer MultiCore. Also good values for Years.
