Xbox 360 Jasper mobo out in wild
THE NEXT VERSION of the Xbox 360 motherboard has been spotted in the wild, and subsequently poked, prodded and pictured.
Code-named 'Jasper', it comes with a 65nm GPU, which Microsoft hopes will further alleviate some of the infamous Xbox 360 RROD problems.
Xbox-scene's forum members have once again come up with the scoop and low-down.
Multiple Arcade Xbox 360 SKUs have been spotted with the new motherboard.
The new power supply is now rated at 150W (25W less than those used with previous Falcon boards) and the plug format has changed so you can't accidentally poke this PSU into an older Xbox 360.
It's reported the system is quieter than original 360s, but the DVD-drive is the same, meaning you'll have to install your games to a separate HDD if you want to get the most out of your quieter console.
It also seems the new 360 design will come with 256mb of built-in storage, up from 16mb, and replacing the need for the Arcade SKU's 256mb memory unit.
This additional memory also allows the New Xbox Experience (NXE) to be fully installed without any additional memory unit being required - a point of contention for the Arcade SKU owners.
It's thought it's likely that all other SKU's will come with the internal memory, so that motherboard designs are similar through-out the SKU offerings. ยต

What good is it without Blue ray?

To play awesome games at half the console price. Grunchy it is clear you are a ps3 fanboy, go back to your meager selection of games, you can finish each one in like 2 hours.
You do know Sony OWNS the name and technology of blu ray, they aren't going to sell it to competitors Microsoft are they??? 

Do some research before you make childish remarks which you know nothing about!

Blu-ray is a product of many company's attached to Sony! They have already releasing generic bluray players. meaning the bluray technology is leaking down the line! and will have to! in order to met market needs. bluray wont make it if Sony don't sell it! XBOX is Microsoft that is enough said. they will probably hold out till they let a secondary vendor supply a bluray for it! or Sony is just gives away the player technology. Research Bluray before ya claim childish remarks :)
As far as games - XBOX been out longer then PS3 and no the games arn't that easy. unless u buying a 5 year's game.

You are aware sony dosnt own the name or the rights to blu-ray, its just the head of the blu-ray consordium. that means that microsoft would indeed pay for the rights to introduce a blu-ray addon, and have already recived an open invitation to use the standard, to which they declined :-D

So maybe YOU should do your homework before telling others to do there.

The "Blu-ray Disc Founder group" was started in May 2002 by nine leading electronic companies: Sony, Matsushita, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, LG Electronics, Hitachi, Sharp, and Samsung. Spearheaded by Sony Corporation,
sony is not the sole owner of Blu-ray technology. try looking up Blu-ray Disc Association before you make childish remarks which you know nothing about!
Sony has already said they would be open to 360s with bluray. Only foolish companies try to wall their technology in. In the end they make way more money with MS games being printed on bluray media and more bluray players in the market.
Um Adam...hate to break this to you, but Sony doesn't sell blu-ray to anyone it licenses the format. If it didn't, you wouldn't see blu-ray players by other companies.

Way to flame other people when you don't even have the facts or at least the terminology straight. Try again next time.

um, no. sony came out with the idea for a cd addon for the snes and nintendo REJECTED it! no0b.
