SKY IS FOLLOWING the BBC in allowing punters to watch its content online.

The outfit, which has been offering its PC-wielding punters a catch-up service for a while, now wants to extend it to enable non-subscribers to sign up too.

According to the Guardian, Sky's chief Operating Officer, Mike Darcey, said that the service will be around in the next few months.

PC Punters would have to pay for the Windows only service if they are not already Sky customers.

Sky Sports is lined up to hit the online subscription service, with Sky1 and film channels coming after discussions with the movie studios are completed. µ

Better Subscriber service

Maybe if they would offer a better service for their subscribers they would get more people using it. Making me pay to rent a program when it was freely avaliable on sky a few hours ago isnt up to much.

All I want is to be able to watch Sky1 In realtime, with the same picture that they see on the TV. I dont mind ads.

This would really open this serivce up and make it more useable. Currently Hulu via an american proxy has far more shows and better quality.
