Apple lists top Apps of 2008

All looks a bit fishy to us

THE FRUITY FOLKS at Cappuccino have deigned to release their own version of the Google Zeitgeist - namely the top Ifawn App downloads of the year.

Despite only launching the Itunes App Store in the middle of the year, Ifawnatics are downloading apps at a rate of two million a day.
Out of those, the most popular paid download was Koi Pond, a bizarre dynamic fish pond simulation that retails for 59p and has had rave reviews. Other popular paid downloads have included games such as Texas Hold-'em, Moto Chaser and Super Monkey Ball.

On the free front, the most popular download has been Pandora Radio (which, annoyingly, isn't available in the UK thanks to music licensing restrictions). Facebook comes in at number two, with newcomer Google Earth also getting a place on the top ten after just two months.

Of the free utilities available on the Store, the most popular download was the improbably simple Flashlight, an application that merely displays a bright white screen, thus allowing the Ifawn to emit enough light to stumble your way to the loo with.

Those of you inquisitive enough to want to bore yourself senseless with with the full barrage of stats can knock yourself out here (you'll need to have Itunes installed). µ
