India and Pakistan hack it out online

Cross border cyber hooliganism
Thursday, 27 November 2008, 16:43

INDIA AND PAKISTAN have taken to hacking away at each other, with cyber hooligans from both countries using their tech skills to deface their rival nation’s websites.

Taking control of an Indian government school website, a group of Indian hackers retaliated against a previous Pakistani hack on the same site, by announcing the site was now under their control and that the website owners should look into getting it fixed and made more secure.

It isn’t the first time the two countries have clashed online, with rival groups taking their political feuds to online communities, discussion groups, social not-working sites and anywhere else they can plaster their message.

Since the middle of November, several sites have been defaced by hackers on both sides of the border, according to the Indian news agency Press Trust of India. µ
